Colin’s Farewell

On Sunday 30 May,2010 we farewelled our Minister, Rev Colin English. The function included a very special service followed by formal acknowledgement of Colin’s long ministry with St Paul’s. Then he and Barbara were piped up to Asher Hall where lunch and many memories were enjoyed by all.

Fireside meeting in May was a wonderful reminder of the happy and busy years Barbara and Colin have spent in Napier and in their attendance at Fireside. Barbara as a President, Secretary and active member and Colin who willingly chaired AGM meetings and often shared interesting talks and messages.
A trip down memory lane

A group of 4 members acted out a play “I Wanna be a Pastor” much to the delight of the audience who know now that they would rather not have Herbert Flugle as our new Minister. Fun word games formed part of the programme as did a very humorous song about jobs to fill the day of a retiree. We sang from the little Blue Book which is made up of songs by Barbara. It was lovely to have a number of past members join us. We all shared in a party supper.
