Parish Lunch Group and Baking for Cranford Hospice (is there a connection?)

Parish Lunch Group will meet at noon on Friday 30th March (instead of 6th April, being Good Friday) at the Factory in Ahuriri, next to Vetro Foods. Please let Jill know if you would like to attend – 845 2392.

Baking for Cranford The Parish will be doing this on 1st April. Cranford Hospice is very grateful to receive fresh or frozen loaves, muffins, biscuits and slices. For those who do not bake: stickers and supplies for the children’s’ art trolley, hair & skin products, bath oils, toilet paper and tissues, tinned peaches.

Christmas Cakes, Tree of Remembrance, Carol singing around the Wards

Hawke’s Bay Soldier’s Memorial Hospital – Carol singing around the Wards
You are invited to join us for the annual round the wards Christmas carol singing. We need many strong voices, and guitarists if possible, to enable us to announce the coming of the Christ child to patients and staff. This is a family occasion, all ages are welcome. We meet on Wednesday 14th December at 6 p.m. at the main reception area entrance of the hospital. Light refreshments follow the carol singing.

Cranford Hospice Tree of Remembrance – We have been allocated Countdown Supermarket (formerly Woolworths) in Carlyle Street on Thursday 15th December. Please add your name to the list in the foyer or contact Ian Finlayson for further details.

Napier Family Centre – 2011 Gifting Tree
Once again we are supporting this as a Parish. Some tags are still available.

Swinburn House Book Gifts
All gift wrapped books to be returned by Sunday 4th December to Marion Fell. Thank you to all who donated and wrapped these gifts so attractively. We look forward to presenting them to staff who will be attending our morning service on Sunday 11th December. Do take time to talk with them about their special work at Swinburn House in Pirimai. Some senior children have also been invited to join the Tuesday morning children’s programme on Tuesday 13th December which is another special event shared with members of St. Paul’s Church. Child Sponsorship
The cost of sponsoring a child has increased and at the last Board of Managers meeting it was agreed that we would pay the increased amount (gone from $180 to $307). If any of you would like to support this worthy cause separately from our monthly retiring offerings, please see Brenda.

Christmas Lights Bus Tour – Drones & Sticks
Monday 5th December at 7.30 p.m. Preceded by pipe band concert and supper. $18 per person. See notice in the foyer for details.

Napier Civic Choir & HB Orchestra
presents ‘Handel’s Messiah on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December at St John’s Cathedral. Full details are on the noticeboard in the foyer.
