A New Look For The Choir
choir-outfits-2009c.jpg

After having the Blue and Black Choir robes for many years, a suggestion was raised at Board of Managers that maybe it was time for a new look. The robes had served a great purpose but were looking tired. So Presbyterian Blue Stoles over white blouse or shirt for men and women and black or dark trousers or skirts were decided on. The collars were designed in Auckland by a worker in the Pattern Room of Woodhouse Apparel, the fabric selected and a sample made during 2008. A few members of St. Paul’s congregation worked on the sewing and had the Stoles ready for their first viewing when they were worn at the Christmas Eve Service at 11pm. A very modern and up-to-date look for the 30 + members in the Processional Choir.

Thanks are due to those who made the stoles. I heard from one woman how difficult they were to make, especially the pulling of them right side out. Congratulations on a task well done, ladies.
