Fireside meets on Tuesday 21st February 2012. This is Leap Year – Let’s Enjoy A Party and Leap into this year’s activities with a Pot Luck Tea at 6pm at the Finlayson’s home. Full details emailed to members.
About Our Work In, and Connection With, Our Community
Enliven a group under the auspices of PSEC are now using our facilities Thursday’s and Friday’s for their day programme. If any member of the Parish is interested in providing help over the lunch time on a Thursday, would you please let Brenda (845 0641) know.
Napier Foodbank has had a busy start to the year. They are currently short of canned vegetables, fish and spaghetti, biscuits and weetbix. They would also be interested is hearing from anyone who would be willing to make jam for them as they have been given strawberries. Sugar and jars can be supplied, they just need your jam making skills. If you are able to help please phone Sue on 844 5951. Thank you
Christchurch Commemorations at the Cathedral
Sunday 19th February at 5pm the traditional art deco weekend service with the Royal NZ Navy Bank is “A tale of two cathedrals” reflecting on our own Napier story and the Christchurch events of last year and the parallel loss of our cathedrals. Doors open at 4pm, a donation at the door is welcome.
Wednesday 22nd February at 7pm; “Blessed are those who mourn”, a Service for Christchurch with the Cathedral Choir; Mayor Barbara Arnott speaking. This replaces our normal Ash Wednesday service but is the first in the ecumenical Lenten series on the Beatitudes.
I Musici Journey of the Italian Serenade. Concert on Thursday 1st March 8pm at the Municipal Theatre, Napier. See details in the foyer.
